Ang Pao is one such ritual which is practiced by the Chinese community during the CNY celebrations. In English Ang Pao translates to “Red Envelope” and the tradition is to hand over money in red envelopes to young and unmarried people by the old and married ones. Now, red is the color of prosperity and good Luck in the Chinese culture. It is the color which represents China outside of China. This affiliation towards red by the Chinese makes the color a must for any special occasion, be it a baby shower, wedding or even New Year. The money inside the envelope ends with an even digit and does not include the number four in it.
Gumtoo decided to make this tradition even more exciting and lucrative for the younger generation. Tattoos are eventually loved by children of all age groups and Gumtoo decided to project this love along with these red envelopes which were handed over to them. This time we have come up with tattoos inside of red envelopes which could be used by elders to shower blessings on the younger ones. The tattoo-clad packets would be well received by the children and they will have double reason to rejoice; money which makes everyone happy and a tattoo which is a child’s favourite. This engagement of kids makes sure that they are attached to their roots and near to their ethnic tradition.
Above was an in a general way to offer fun and engagement to children but Gumtoo has come up with a larger picture for the corporates of Singapore. Brands can take this way as an opportunity to have the odds in favor of them. They can back the tattoo giving inside red envelopes by sponsoring them and having their brand logo printed on the tattoo. By means of this Brands can reach more near to the common mass and as it is well said,” close to sight is close to mind.” Tattoo offering can drive a lot of audience to the red envelope and thus more attention to the brand.
Gumtoo is helping brands create a greater reach with its reliable and smart temporary tattoos. We invite more and more corporates to try the concept and make CNY a more memorable one.
