Temporary tattoos have been steadily climbing up the fashion charts. Trend-setters such as Beyoncé and Kendall Jenner have been spotted with cool temporary tattoos. Now major luxury brands are joining the temporary tattoo bandwagon to promote their uber-cool wares. Coveted by millions, these brands have created a niche in the minds of consumers. Tres chic temporary tattoos will only add to the appeal of luxe brands. Let’s take a look at five major luxury brands who have used temporary tattoos to complement their glam products:
Dior used temporary tattoos for showcasing their Spring 2018 collection at Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week. The tattoos were of French quotes and phrases and placed strategically on the models’ decolletage. Absolutely stunning!
This is not the first time that Dior has used temporary tattoos. In 2012, the brand’s jewelry designer Camille Miceli designed temporary tattoos made of 24-carat-gold! Launched as a limited-edition item for one-time wear, the Dior Grand Bal Golden Tattoo set was priced at $120. The set included cuffs, delicate rings and charm bracelets composed of gold leafing. For the Louis Vuitton Spring Summer Men’s collection in 2011, LVMH collaborated with artist and tattoo master Scott Campbell to design men’s bags. The leather bags had motifs inspired by tattoos. To promote this collection, LVMH put temporary tattoos on the male runway models in the form of LV logos and motifs from the bags.
In 2010, Peter Philips, Chanel’s global creative director created temporary tattoos with designs such as pearls, chains, sparrows, flowers and the Chanel logo. Launched as Les Trompe L’Oeil Temporary Skin Art, these tattoos retailed on the Chanel website and in Chanel boutiques for $75 for five sheets of 55 designs.
Francois Nars took inspiration from his favorite island Tahiti to create his Tahitian Bronze Last Resort Collection. As part of this collection, he also created limited-edition temporary tattoos. These tattoos based on Polynesian motifs consist of beads and shark’s teeth can be applied to create exotic tattoo designs. The NARS tattoo sets are currently retailing for $35 for four sheets.
During the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Spring 2015, Tommy Hilfiger had model and celebrity Kendall Jenner sporting temporary tattoos in star designs to promote its latest collection.
